Instructions For Paying Traffic Citation:

You have been issued a traffic citation by the CITY OF FOREST PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT.

A non-mandatory charge (speeding, stop sign, etc.) means you have the choice of appearing in court on the court date written on the front of your citation OR pleading guilty and paying a bond/fine prior to court. A plea of guilty can be accepted with a mail payment without making an appearance in court. In some limited cases, a plea of nolo contendere can be accepted without a court appearance, but can NOT be accepted by mail. If you plan to plead otherwise (not guilty, guilty with explanation), or if you wish to plead special circumstances and ask for leniency, you must come to court to do so.

Lists of bonds/fines and a list of mandatory/non-mandatory charges are provided on this page. These amounts are for payment of bonds/fines prior to court. Fines set by the judge in court may be higher or lower than those listed. If your offense is not listed call this office at (404)608-2363 Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Payments:

IN PERSON: You may pay your bond/fine, without going to court, during normal office hours. Bring your copy of the citation(s).

OFFICE HOURS ARE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

MANDATORY COURT APPEARANCES

A mandatory offense is any offense for which a jail sentence, probation, and / or community service are required by law or for which a conviction may result in a suspension of your driver’s license. If you did have insurance, you may bring your proof to the court office and pay the state mandated $35.00 fine without appearing in court. This may not be handled by mail.
