Duties of a Police Officer:
The duties of a Police Officer includes routine patrol, traffic enforcement, response to emergency and non-emergency calls, participation in community oriented policing programs and investigation of criminal activities.
Available Positions:
The City of Forest Park is always accepting applications for the positions of : Police
Officer and Communications Officer. Applications can be picked up and turned in at the Personnel
Office at City Hall, 785 Forest Pkwy, phone# 404-608-2347.
If
you are interested in a position as a police or communications officer with the City of
Forest Park you must meet these minimum requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
United States Citizen
Minimum age of 21
Valid driver’s license
High School diploma or GED certificate
Honorable discharge if served in the Armed Forces
Successfully pass cognitive skills examination and personality assessment and a polygraph
test/voice stress analyzer.
Visual ability cannot be less than 20/100 in each eye, uncorrected, and must be corrected
to 20/20 with glasses or contact lenses
Medical examination required upon offer of employment
Additional skills required:
Skill in communicating with a variety of people in stressful and emergency situations.
Ability to think quickly and retain composure in stressful and emergency situations.
Ability to exercise good judgment in different types of situations.
Ability to learn quickly and thoroughly.
Ability to gather information and interpret pertinent facts.
